1995
E. Thorberg, AKA Eldur formed the band Thule along with a drummer named Sveinn Snorri Magnússon. Thule recorded material through the years but only seven songs can be found officially. In '97 they released a split demo tape with Asmodeus. Two of the demo tracks were previously released in '96 on a Icelandic compilation CD called "Fire and Ice".
1998
After Thule spliting up, Eldur changed the name into Curse and kept it going as a solo project. Few months later the first Curse demo was recorded including 6 songs.
1999
Eldur recorded 5 new demo songs. The '98 & '99 demos were released as one under the name “Dimensions Of Scattered Sound And Silence”.
2000
Curse signed a record deal with No Colours Records in Germany.
2001
No Colours released the promo "Battlefield of the gods", and a Mini CD entitled “Cursed be thy name”.
2002
No Colours released Curse's debut CD "Dead Sun Rise".
2003
Curse was set on hold while Eldur recorded and released the Fortid debut album "Völuspá part I - Thor's Anger".
2004
In September, two new members, Faun & Mistur came to assist Eldur and the Curse, and in December the final member, Maddi joined in. Curse ended the year with a live show and laying down drum recordings for the next full lenght album "Slaughter of the stars".
2005
In january, the guitars were recorded for the album. After that, the studio work was layed to rest for many months for various reasons. It wasn't until very late this year that Eldur decided to continue the "Slaughter of the stars" album and record the bass himself. The year ended with the album half-finished.
2006
"Slaughter of the stars" was finally ready and shortly after that a new record deal was signed with the American BLACKMETAL.COM records. The album however was not released until November. This new deal also included the release of the 19:30 long "In life & In death" as a split CD with the Norwegian band Sykdom.
2007
The split with Sykdom entitled "In Life and in Death" was released through Blackmetal.com.
2008
Curse was layed on ice due to Eldurs plans with his other project; Fortid. Still some material was written and recorded, but no release plans made, since the project was set on an experimental stage. Blackmetal.com however renewed the old Thule days by releasing the 95'-'97 demotracks on a CD entitled Anthology. Curse made a bonus track for this album. Eldur moved to Norway.
2009
A new album was finished but it all got deleted in some freak computer failure, along with most of the lyrics, before it reached the point of mixing and mastering. Eldur turned all his focus to Fortid.
2010
Curse became a duo as D. Theobald joined in on drums. Together they created a different writing formula which turned the project into a whole new direction. The album "Void Above, Abyss Below" was written and recorded in only 42 days. Half of the album was improvised. This proved to be the right step and the future for Curse. Schwarzdorn Production in Germany signed a new record deal with the band.
